T. (Tim) Westhead, B.A., M.A., B.Ed. Tim Westhead is an award-winning educator, actor, author and popular workshop facilitator passionately involved in helping others to succeed. With his dynamic style and humorous delivery, Tim has been inspiring audiences for years. His entertaining and informative sessions have made him a keynote speaker with an international reputation. Tim's educational background includes three university degrees, with a Master of Arts in English and teaching credentials from the University of Toronto. Besides English and psychology, he has studied such diverse subjects as art history, law, gourmet cooking and bartending. He is an avid reader, writer and film buff. Tim was a teacher and department head of English until his retirement in 2002 from the Toronto District School Board. He is currently an instructor with the Faculty of Education, Queen's University. A nominee for Canada's 1999 Prime Minister's Awards for Teaching Excellence, Tim was the recipient in 2003 of the Ontario Public School Boards' Association Award for "outstanding contribution to education throughout Ontario." In that same year, he was featured in the Toronto Star when actor Mike Myers, one of Tim's former students, acknowledged him in a nationally televised speech during Myers' induction into Canada's Walk of Fame. Tim was also honoured by the University of Waterloo in 2004 with the Faculty of Arts Alumni Achievement Award for "outstanding contributions to his professional field." In addition to delivering presentations for businesses, financial institutions and educational associations, Tim has recently appeared in a number of stage productions, including Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross. |
